Duffy Statement on Strategic Petroleum Reserve Announcement

Statement

Date: June 23, 2011
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Oil and Gas

U.S.Congressman Sean Duffy (WI-07), a Member of the House Committee on Financial Services and the Joint Economic Committee, issued the following statement today in response to the Obama Administration's announcement that they will release 30 million barrels of oil from the "Strategic Petroleum Reserve" (SPR):

"You don't have to tell Wisconsin families that one of the biggest threats to jobs and the economy is increasing energy costs. It is common sense that the best way to reduce prices at the pump is to increase American domestic energy sources. Instead of raiding our nation's emergency supply of oil, the President should join us in the House with a real energy plan that will lower costs and create jobs by pursuing our natural resources right here in America."
