Obama Administration Announces Higher Unemployment

With the Obama Administration's announcement that unemployment escalated to 9.1% nationally, congressional candidate Mark Amodei called for the ending of Obamanomics and the freeing up of Nevada lands to spur small businesses job creation.

Said Amodei, a small business owner, "With one in eleven Americans and one in eight Nevadans out of work and nearly double that number underemployed or having given up looking for a job, it's clear Obamanomics, the idea that massive government spending and union giveaways will create jobs, has totally failed."

Numbers released last month by the Obama Administration showed Nevada's unemployment rate at 12.5%, by far the worst in the nation according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. http://www.bls.gov/lau/

Continued Amodei, "With the Federal Government owning more than 85% of all the land in Nevada, my job in Congress will be to put that land to work -- mining it, ranching it, farming it and aggressively pursuing multiple use activities that promote energy development, tourism, and free access -- so we can put more Nevadans to work. We need to streamline this process so Nevada's small businesses can create new jobs on what's now locked-up federal lands. This land is all of ours. It's time we use it wisely and for the economic betterment of Nevadans."

The Labor Department's statistics showed the slowest private sector jobs growth since June 2010, adding far short of the 160,000 needed monthly just to keep unemployment percentages even because of population growth.

Concluded Amodei, "We don't need more government jobs. We need more private sector jobs. Every dollar of government spending, every government job is paid for by the profits created by those working in private sector jobs. When we put more of our Nevada land to work, we will put more Nevadans to work."
