Congressman Bill Cassidy, M.D., today released the following statement regarding the debt limit negotiations.

"Raising taxes will kill jobs and prevents economic recovery. To address the debt we must cut spending. Leader Cantor obviously felt that Vice President Biden was so committed to raising taxes that discussions could not advance. Republicans think that while our economy continues to struggle, tax increases would be disastrous."
