STRAIGHT TALK WITH SAM

Constituent Services

One of the best parts about my job is that I am able to help people who are having problems dealing with the federal government. As many of you have discovered it can be frustrating dealing with a federal agency. Sometimes it seems as if you are the only one who is interested in getting your problem resolved.

My office has helped thousands of constituents who are dealing with problems ranging from Social Security to the Veteran's Administration. We will do our best to help you get your issue with the federal government solved.

While I cannot make decisions for government agencies, my office can act as a liaison between you and a federal agency. We can direct you to the appropriate federal agency, see that your situation gets prompt and fair consideration, check on the status of your claim or appeal, and provide you with public information and telephone numbers.

Before I can contact the federal agency you are dealing with though, I need a signed letter or privacy release form from you. To protect citizens the Federal Privacy Act of 1974 mandates that I have written permission before an inquiry can be made.

I know that dealing with the federal government is often a difficult process. I am determined to help you in anyway I can. If you have a problem with a federal agency, please contact one of my district offices in St. Joseph or Liberty. They will be happy to assist you in getting the process started.
