Congresswoman Hirono Statement on Appointment of Hawaii's First Early Childhood Coordinator

Congresswoman Mazie K. Hirono (D-Hawaii) today issued the following statement on Governor Neil Abercrombie's appointment of Terry Lock as the state's first Early Childhood Coordinator:

"I commend Governor Abercrombie for his leadership in making early childhood education a priority in Hawaii. We both recognize the foundational importance of quality early education to a child's success in school and in life.

I congratulate Terry Lock on being named Hawaii's first Early Childhood Coordinator. I look forward to working with her."

Congresswoman Hirono, member of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, is a nationally recognized advocate in Congress for quality early education.
