Congressman Duffy was in Chippewa Falls yesterday, touring local businesses and discussing his efforts in Washington to empower job creators to invest, grow and put our people back to work. He also discussed taxes, spending reform and saving Medicare:

On Touring Local Businesses:
"We're going to tour around Chippewa here, talking to businesses that are employing the great workforce here in Chippewa Falls. And [EDI] is one of our great manufacturing bases here in Chippewa where we are actually making products that we're shipping to places like China. That doesn't happen very often, but it's happening here in Chippewa Falls."

On Washington's Polices Crippling Job Creators:
"What we have is uncertainty still in the marketplace and our job creators are concerned about taxes, they're concerned about regulations and mandates, and healthcare costs. All of these things have come together -- and they're issues that are coming from Washington -- causing them not to take the risk of hiring more people. We need to take that uncertainty away. Let's bring certainty from Washington so our job creators can focus on what they do best, which is creating jobs. And that's what we're working on in Washington is to stabilize this environment and take that uncertainty out of the market."

On Constituents' Concerns About Saving and Securing Medicare:
"They want to ask about what our reforms are with regard to Medicare and what we're doing is preserving and protecting and saving the Medicare system for our current seniors and also for our future generations, instead of what the President proposes, which is basically rationing the services and the access to care for our current seniors."

On Constituents' Concerns About America's Debt Crisis

"We need to balance our budget. Right now, we're projected to borrow $1.5 trillion this year. We owe $14.3 trillion. They want to make sure that this country begins to live within its means. They want to make sure we pass off a great America that's just as prosperous as the one we inherited."
