Letter from Mayor Wiseman to DuPree Supporters
Dear Supporter,
Over the past decade Mississippi has seen some tough times. High unemployment, increased high school dropout rate, and few opportunities for achievement have all plagued this state and taken away from the promise it has.
As a fellow mayor, I know Mayor Johnny DuPree understands what is needed to create jobs, improve education, and improve the quality of life for Mississippians. We need someone with these skills to make Mississippi first.
Therefore, I must give my endorsement to the one candidate in this race who has impressed me with not only his vision, but also with his abundant experience and with his proven record. Mississippi needs a candidate who knows how to lead and has a history of bringing diverse groups of people together in pursuit of common goals.
That candidate is Johnny Dupree.
I've known Mayor DuPree through the years, and my respect for him continues to grow.
After seeing the great job he has done as mayor of Hattiesburg, as president of the Mississippi Municipal League, and after getting the chance to meet with him in Starkville on several occasions, the choice became even clearer.
I have always believed in Mississippi's promise, and I can say that I also believe in Johnny DuPree.
I believe that Johnny DuPree is the best candidate to not only to win the Democratic Primary on August 2, but he is the Democrats' greatest hope for victory in November.
Johnny DuPree is passionate about making Mississippi first, but in order to do that we must step up, make phone calls, knock on doors, and contribute financially to elect him as the next Governor of our great state.
Mississippi needs to live up to its promise, and Johnny DuPree is the best candidate to ensure this happens.
Join me in the effort to take Mississippi to the top and take Johnny DuPree to the Governor's office.
