Rokita Statement on Netanyahu Address to Congress

Rep. Todd Rokita (IN-4) released the following statement today after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed a joint meeting of Congress:

Prime Minister Netanyahu reminded Americans, Congress, and importantly, President Obama, about the strategic importance of the US-Israeli alliance, the increasing danger Israel faces as a result of unrest in the Middle East, and the necessity that the United States maintains a united front with Israel to terrorists and rogue regimes intent on Israel's destruction.

"I am committed to maintaining a strong US-Israeli alliance and sending an unmistakable message that the United States will not stand for aggression against Israel. In light of President Obama's deeply concerning comments last week declaring Israel's retreat to 1967 borders a prerequisite for peace talks to resume, I hope he will listen carefully to the message Prime Minister Netanyahu delivered today and rethink his ill-advised policy toward our strongest ally in the Middle East."
