U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-Texas) today issued the following statement today on the failure of Senate Democrats to produce a budget this year or pass one in 750 days:
"This day, the 750th day that the Democratic-led Senate refuses to pass a budget, marks a sad milestone for the U.S. Senate," said Senator Cornyn. "With runaway spending and millions of Americans unemployed, this abdication of duty to pass a budget by Senate Democrats is a statement that they believe the rules of fiscal responsibility do not apply to them. Republicans in the House have shown leadership in passing a budget that makes tough decisions, however, millions of taxpayers continue to wait for Senate Democrats to exercise leadership as well."
