Following the news today that President Obama will nominate Rodney Gilstrap for U.S. District Judge, Eastern District, U.S. Congressman Lloyd Doggett (D-TX), chair of the Texas Democratic Delegation, issued the following statement:

"I am pleased that Rodney Gilstrap, whom our Texas Democratic Delegation recommended on March 22, 2010, has finally been nominated. He will bring to this important job extensive professional experience, a distinguished record of service to his community, and a life time of living in East Texas. I appreciate the confidence that our Senators have also expressed in him and hope that he is promptly confirmed."
