Statement

Date: May 10, 2011
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Louisiana Congressman Bill Cassidy, M.D., urged people across Louisiana to prepare and use caution as the possibility of flooding endangers our communities.

"Louisiana has faced crisis before, and each time the citizens of our state have persevered. Once again, Louisianans must remain vigilant and prepare for the possibility of flooding not only in the Sixth Congressional District but across the state," said Cassidy. "I am monitoring the situation and remain in contact with the Corp of Engineers and local authorities. Governor Jindal made a wise decision to seek a Presidential Disaster Declaration and I urge the President to accept the request. My office stands ready to handle constituent's requests and assist at the federal level during this emergency."
