Representative Todd Rokita (IN-4) today voted for H.R. 1230, the "Restarting American Offshore Leasing Now Act". Rokita released the following statement:

"Americans and Hoosiers are facing ever rising gas prices that are making it harder for families to make ends meet and small business to create jobs. We need to provide the tools necessary for new energy production so we can bring those costs down. I am proud to support this common sense bill and put our country back on a path towards energy independence."

H.R. 1230, the "Restarting American Offshore Leashing Now Act", passed the House of Representatives on May 5, 2011, by a vote of 266-149. The bill will reverse the Obama Administration's actions regarding scheduled offshore lease sales.
