Lummis Co-Sponsors Bill to Delist Gray Wolf

Statement

Date: May 12, 2011
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Representative Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) has co-sponsored H.R. 1819, legislation that returns wolf management to the states once their respective target numbers have been reached. Should numbers drop below population goals, the legislation would allow for temporary relisting.

Lummis released the following statement:

"In its refusal to recognize Wyoming's exceedingly successful efforts to recover the wolf in Wyoming, Washington continues to act as an enabler for radical environmental groups and their ideologically-driven agenda. H.R.1819 is a common sense solution that firmly holds its ground; putting a stop to more than eight years of goal post shifting which has prevented sound science-based decisions regarding the fully recovered wolf."
