U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) released the following statement regarding President Obama's announcement that Osama bin Laden has been confirmed dead:
"Nearly ten years after 9/11, Osama bin Laden is finally dead. This is a great day for our country and a major blow to al Qaeda and terrorist networks around the globe. As a singularly inspirational figure for Islamist extremists, killing bin Laden has been a top national security priority. I join all Americans in expressing profound gratitude to our brave servicemen and women, as well America's intelligence community, for ensuring that bin Laden can no longer harm our country.
"Killing bin Laden is news we've all been waiting for. However, Islamist extremists continue to pose grave threats to our country, and America must remain vigilant in the fight to defeat global terrorist networks."
