Webster Supports Removal of Washington Regulatory Overreach

Congressman Daniel Webster (R-Winter Garden) released the following statement today regarding the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's decision to file a petition requesting the removal of the job-destroying Florida-only numeric nutrient criteria standard rule:

"This rule is more Washington regulatory overreach that is going to cost jobs and increase the price of everyday goods for struggling families and fixed income Floridians.

"Despite repeated requests by a bipartisan group of the Florida delegation for the EPA to explain the true costs of this rule, there is still uncertainty as to what its real effect would be for families who are already tightening their belts.

"Clean water is an essential need for all Floridians, and I am confident we can keep water quality high and job-destroying regulations low.

"I remain committed to any effort to keep hard-earned wages in Floridians' pockets and to cut regulatory red tape that has hindered job growth,"said Congressman Webster.
