Pete Sessions Applauds Passage of "The Path to Prosperity"

Statement

Date: April 15, 2011

U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX-32) today released the following statement regarding the passage of the fiscal year 2012 House budget resolution by Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan, "The Path to Prosperity":

"As American families and businesses continue to feel the impact of our nation's spending-driven debt crisis, House Republicans passed a budget today that will put America back on a path to prosperity. Our common-sense budget proposal cuts $5.8 trillion in wasteful spending, reduces our deficit by $4.4 trillion over the next decade, eliminates $800 billion in tax increases under ObamaCare and creates nearly one million new private-sector jobs.

"The American people deserve better than the Democrats' unsustainable tax, borrow, regulate and spend policies that have put our nation on the fast-track towards bankruptcy. Our budget will reverse this course, empowering our job creators and putting an end to Washington's culture of spending money we simply do not have. I call on President Obama and Senate Democrats to join House Republicans in the fight to ensure a more prosperous future for all Americans."
