Rokita: "We Must Stop Spending Money We Don't Have"

Representative Todd Rokita (IN-4) released the following statement today regarding the pending government shutdown:

"We must stop spending money we don't have and start making the hard choices we need to balance our budget and get our economy moving.

Three times now, I have voted for funding bills that cut spending, fund our troops and keep the government open. Three times now, the U.S. Senate has either voted the bill down, or refused to even consider it. Any objective Hoosier can see that it is the Senate's refusal to make the necessary, responsible choices that has lead us to this point.

Hoosiers elected me to Congress to do a job -- that job is to stop wasteful Washington spending. I am here representing those Hoosiers and I will keep working until the job is done."
