Congressman Joe Courtney tonight released the following statement after Congressional negotiators and the White House reached an agreement to avoid a government shutdown:

"Cooler heads finally prevailed tonight. I am pleased we reached a real agreement allowing us to move forward and avoid a pointless shutdown of the federal government."
