LUCAS STATEMENT ON LIFE OF RONALD REAGAN
June 7, 2004

Washington, D.C.- U.S. Third District Congressman Frank Lucas made the following statement upon the news today of the death of Ronald Reagan, 40th President of the United States:

"My thoughts and prayers are with Nancy and the Reagan family. We mourn the loss of an American hero today, but history will forever note Ronald Reagan's great accomplishments in bringing down communism and bringing back conservative ideals.

"His idealistic outlook on America's future inspired us all. He brought freedom to the oppressed abroad, and prosperity to the American people.

"There is no American politician who inspired my call to public service more than Ronald Reagan. He was my idol."
