Working to create American jobs, produce domestic energy, and reduce our nation's deficit -- Congressman Jeff Landry (R, LA-03) joined Congressman Rob Bishop (R, UT-01) and Senator David Vitter (R, LA) to introduce the Domestic Jobs, Domestic Energy, and Deficit Reduction Act of 2011 (3-D Act).

"President Obama's pipedream energy policy is causing Americans to lose their jobs, increasing our dependence on foreign oil, and adding to the $14 trillion national deficit. It is imperative we end the President's bureaucratic red-tape and allow our people back to utilizing America's vast natural resources," said Landry. "The 3-D Act that I co-sponsored today will harness American resources to create jobs and reduce the deficit."

"With the President talking out of both sides of his mouth on foreign oil, I know that we must enact common-sense legislation now to make us energy independent," continued Landry. "The 3-D Act expedites the permitting process and opens the OCS, a portion of ANWR, and the Keystone XL Pipeline to energy production -- potentially creating more than 2 million jobs, $10 trillion in economic activity, and more than $2 trillion in tax receipts."

Landry concluded, "At a time when American families are struggling with the pain at the pump, small businesses are being forced to cut jobs, and government is spending the nation into record deficits - it is necessary we utilize our natural resources to produce responsible, affordable, domestic energy. I will continue to work hard to pass the 3-D Act and all other legislation that allow us to become energy independent, to create jobs, and to reduce the deficit."
