On House Floor, Welch Defends Funding for National Public Radio

As the US House of Representatives considered a bill to prohibit federal funding of National Public Radio and its affiliates such as Vermont Public Radio, Rep. Peter Welch (D-Vt.) on Thursday spoke forcefully against the legislation. Welch called VPR an essential institution to all the people of Vermont and highlighted its importance to the democratic process.
