U.S. Congressman Sean Duffy issued the following statement today after the House passed a short-term continuing resolution:
"A week and a half ago, this House passed one of the largest cuts in discretionary spending in the history of this body. That measure is a significant down payment on the real work we need to do to get our nation's fiscal house in order.
"Today, the House leads once again by passing a two week extension in order to prevent the federal government from shutting down. This measure, like the larger continuing resolution before it, puts us on the path to restoring fiscal sanity and restraint to Congress. By reining in the size and scope of the federal government, we remove barriers to economic growth and job creation.
"It is my hope that the Senate will act quickly and join the People's House in enacting pro-growth legislation that will empower small businesses, working families and entrepreneurs to innovate, invest and create jobs."
