Cornyn Statement on Senate Passage of the Short-Term CR

Statement

Date: March 2, 2011
Location: Washington, DC

Following Senate passage of the short-term continuing resolution (CR) that reduces federal spending and avoids a government shutdown, U.S. Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) today issued the following statement:

"This continuing resolution is a small step in the right direction and I am pleased that my Democratic colleagues joined Republicans in supporting much needed spending cuts. Now, we must build on this and work together in a bipartisan fashion to craft a long-term extension that seriously reins in out-of-control federal spending."
