This week, Congress was in recess for the President's Day District Work Period, allowing Members to return to our districts and meet with constituents about the policies before Congress. I always value the opportunity to hear directly from constituents about their opinions, the challenges they face and solutions for the 32nd District and nation.
In my meetings with groups this week, it was clear that the primary concerns of North Texans are getting our economy back on track and creating jobs. In the 112th Congress, the Republican majority has already taken action to change Washington's culture of weekly votes that increase spending to one of weekly votes that cut job-destroying spending. When I return to Washington next week, I will continue to promote fiscally-responsible policies that will encourage economic growth, create jobs, make America more competitive and assist North Texas businesses.
