Lummis on the President's 2012 Budget Proposal

Statement

U.S. Representative Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.) issued the following statement today in response to the release of President Obama's FY2012 budget proposal:

"Our staggering debt levels have exploded under a President intent on spending his way out of our nation's economic problems. Ignoring Americans' pleas to cut up government credit cards and avoiding his own debt commission's recommendations, the President's proposal demonstrates that he is not serious about getting our country's fiscal situation under control. His new budget proposal is the highest in American history. The continuation of the President's spend, tax and borrow approach lacks leadership and will dig an ever-deepening ditch for future generations of Americans.

"Republicans have hit the ground running to reverse the course of the President's irresponsible spending spree and we will continue to match our words with action in order to get our country off the road towards bankruptcy and on the path to prosperity."
