Congressman Jeff Landry (Republican, New Iberia) issued the following statement after Judge Martin Feldman ordered the Obama Administration to decide within 30 days whether to grant a set of five permits for deep-water drilling projects in the Gulf of Mexico:
"I applaud Judge Feldman's ruling today. The Administration has illegally dragged its feet for too long in issuing drilling permits... I will not stop beating my drum until the President allows the hard-working people of South Louisiana back to work and enacts a realistic, affordable energy policy that weens us off foreign oil."
