"Our thoughts and prayers go out to my colleague, Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, her staff and the shooting victims in Tucson, Arizona. I condemn these horrendous acts and they have no place in a civil democracy. Congresswoman Giffords is a hard working and dedicated representative for her constituents and I pray for a swift recovery."
