Congresswoman Mazie K. Hirono (D-Hawaii) today announced her latest subcommittee assignment which will elevate her ability to respond to the needs of the people of Hawaii. The Congresswoman has been appointed to the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee's Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment.

Congresswoman Hirono's seniority in the U.S. House of Representatives has allowed her to retain memberships on the Transportation and Infrastructure and Education and the Workforce committees. She has served on both committees since 2007, following the election to her first term to Congress. Her legislative priorities of helping create jobs, promoting renewable energy use, and improving student achievement are reflected in her current committee assignments.
