Griffin Welcomes Mubarak Resignation

Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02), a member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, today issued the following statement regarding reports that Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has relinquished power:

"I welcome Mr. Mubarak's decision to abide by the will of the Egyptian people. The transition to freedom in Egypt must include the repeal of emergency law and the adoption of constitutional reforms in order to produce free and democratic elections. And above all the transition must be peaceful."
