Rep. Frederica Wilson Announces Committee Assignments

Press Release

Date: Jan. 28, 2011
Location: Washington, DC

Rep. Frederica Wilson (FL-17) today announced her full committee assignments for the 112th Congress. She will serve on the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology.

"I'm excited to hit the ground running on both my committees.

"The 17th District is home to a large immigrant population from the Caribbean, Latin America, and beyond and my constituents care deeply about U.S. foreign policy. Serving on the Committee on Foreign Affairs will allow me to continue advocating for critical issues such as U.S. aid to Haiti and a strong U.S.-Israel relationship," said Rep. Wilson.

"On the Science, Space, and Technology Committee, I'll work to ensure my constituents are able to compete for high-quality jobs in a 21st-century economy. Technology, science, and workforce development are critical components of a global marketplace and my district stands to benefit greatly from such a transition."

"I'm looking forward to working with my committee colleagues from both sides of the aisle to give my constituents the type of representation they deserve."
