Issue Position: Foreign Policy, Trade, and Defense - Nuclear Weapons

Issue Position

Limiting the threat of nuclear war should be one of our highest defense priorities. I believe engagement with nations that have or are developing nuclear capability (including Iran, India, Pakistan, China and North Korea) is the best way to prevent the development and use of nuclear weapons.

I strongly support the Treaty on the Nonproliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) objectives to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons and weapons technology, to promote cooperation in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy and to further the goal of achieving nuclear disarmament.
