Fleming Rescission Bill Featured in Republican Spending Reduction Plan

Congressman John Fleming, M.D. released the following statement today after H.R. 38, his legislation rescinding the Health Insurance Reform Implementation Fund originally appropriated to pay for administrative expenses to carry out ObamaCare, was featured in the Republican Study Committee's Spending Reduction Act of 2011.

"The American people are fed up with out-of-control spending in Washington, and are ready for a change in the way their taxpayers dollars are spent. Republicans heard this message loud and clear and are getting serious about rolling back spending levels and cutting waste.

"Congress cannot continue to kick the can down the road and expect the same results. Families across this country are being forced to tighten their belts and balance their budgets; it's time for the federal government to do the same. My legislation, coupled with a comprehensive plan for spending reduction, is a great first step towards getting our federal budget under control and addressing the serious spending problems that have long plagued this country."
