Rep. Gus Bilirakis (FL-09) issued the following statement after President Obama's State of the Union address:
"The message the American people have received from the President the past two years is that more spending and increasing the role of Washington are the only ways to grow our economy and create jobs," Bilirakis said. "Unfortunately, we have seen the painful effects of this strategy with record unemployment and mounting debt. As the new Congress begins, Republicans are forging ahead with sensible spending cuts and the removal of excessive regulations to ensure we create jobs for this nation."
