U.S. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Vista), Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, released the following statement on the Arizona shooting involving U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords:

"This savage act of violence was an attack against decency itself. My thoughts and prayers are with my colleague Rep. Giffords, the other victims of this shooting, and their families."
