Meehan Lands Key Subcommittee Assignments on Oversight and Government Reform Committee

U.S. House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Darrell Issa (CA-49) has appointed Congressman Pat Meehan (PA-07) to the Subcommittee on Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP), Financial Services and Bailouts of Public and Private Programs, and the Subcommittee on Technology, Information Policy, Intergovernmental Relations and Procurement Reform.

Chairman Issa, announcing Subcommittee assignments, added "Congressman Meehan has a demonstrated history of public service, aggressively going after corruption and identifying fraud. His dedication and background as a District Attorney and a United States Attorney, for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, make him a valuable asset and strong addition to the Committee."

With the first hearing scheduled for Wednesday, January 26th on TARP oversight and the foreclosure crisis, Congressman Meehan plans to hit the ground running. "The Oversight Committee will play a central role in seeking greater accountability from those who are stewards of the public fisc. I expect that this assignment will provide a strong place from which to ferret out waste fraud and abuse."
