U.S. Rep. Yvette D. Clarke Sworn-in the 112th Congress

Today, Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke will be sworn-in the 112th Congress as the U.S. Representative for the 11th Congressional District of New York.

"I am honored to once again represent the 11th Congressional District of New York in the 112th Congress. I am deeply honored and humbled to serve the district in which I was raised. Know that I will continue to fight for the legislative initiatives, policies, and laws that are pertinent to central Brooklyn," stated Congresswoman Clarke.

"It was an honor to be a part of the 111th Congress, one of the most productive Congresses since the 1960's. I had the opportunity to vote on ground breaking legislation that worked to help repair our economy, strengthen small businesses and provide millions of Americans access to healthcare," added Rep. Clarke.

Below is a list of the accomplishments/ legislation that was passed out of the 111th Congress and signed into law:

* The American Recovery & Reinvestment Act;
* The Small Business Jobs Act;
* The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act;
* The Student Aid & Fiscal Responsibility Act;
* The Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act;
* The Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act;
* The Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Act;
* The 9/11 Health and Compensation Act; and more.

"Know that I enter into this new Republican controlled Congress with a renewed sense of activism. I will continue to fight to protect the many laws that the 111th Congress worked so hard to put in place on behalf of Brooklyn residents and the rest of the nation.
