On this Veterans Day, we commemorate with abiding gratitude our nation's brave men and women in uniform whose patriotism and self-sacrifice have made it possible for us to live safely and enjoy the blessings of liberty.
We also take this opportunity to honor the service of all who have served our nation. As we remember their sacrifices, we renew our commitment to support our nation's three million troops and reservists, their families and 23 million veterans.
Throughout the Ninth Congressional District, local organizations will participate in various activities honoring our veterans. I encourage everyone to attend one of these ceremonies.
Most of all, take a moment during the holiday to personally thank a veteran or a soldier for their contributions to our nation and our way of life. It might be a loved one, a friend, or a neighbor. Write letters to our soldiers abroad. Let them know you appreciate their service. Your words of thanks will mean the world to them.
