Cassidy Appointed to Energy & Commerce Committee

Press Release

Date: Dec. 10, 2010
Location: Washington, DC

Louisiana Congressman Bill Cassidy was appointed today to serve on the Energy & Commerce Committee in the 112th Congress. With broad jurisdiction over energy, health care, interstate commerce, and consumer affairs, the panel will be pivotal to advancing conservative solutions when Republicans take control of the House in January.

"Energy & Commerce will be at the forefront of recreating health care reform in a way that lowers costs and embraces American values, rather than raising costs and defying our values," said Cassidy. "It will also play a leading role in expanding the safe production of affordable American energy. I'm excited to join the committee, and look forward to getting to work."
