Cornyn Statement on the Senate Tax Bill Vote

Statement

Date: Dec. 15, 2010
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Taxes

U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-Texas) released the following statement today regarding the vote on the bipartisan tax bill which passed the Senate:

"Today's vote is a victory for America's working families and small businesses. Congress should not raise taxes on anyone during a fragile economic recovery, especially when unemployment is high and hovering near 10 percent. We do not have a deficit problem because the American people are taxed too little, we have this problem because the government spends too much. Congress needs roll up its sleeves and start making the tough budgeting decisions the American people demanded in November. I hope the House will act responsibly and send this bill to the President for his approval."
