Issues: Taxes
Welcome to "This Week in Congress." In just a few weeks, all Americans will face higher taxes when the current tax rates expire on Dec. 31st. Allowing taxes to go up now will further impede our economic recovery. Our most important priority in Congress should be strengthening our economy and creating jobs. The Senate began working on tax legislation this week and I am hopeful that there will be an agreement before January 1st in both chambers to extend the current tax code.
