Lieberman, Collins Praise House Bill to Repeal "Don't Ask, Don't Tell"

Statement

Senators Joe Lieberman (I-CT) and Susan Collins (R-ME) issued the following statement regarding the decision by Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives to introduce a bill this week that would repeal "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." The House bill will be a companion to the stand-alone bill that Senators Lieberman and Collins introduced last week.

"Repealing "Don't Ask, Don't Tell' should not be just a promise unkept -- we must take bold action to get it done. This step by our colleagues in the House shows the broad and very real commitment to repealing the unjust law before the end of the year."
