Capito Applauds Successful Efforts to Protect West Virginia Forestland in Paw Paw

Today, the West Virginia Division of Forestry and the Conversation Fund announced that they have succeeded in their attempts over seven years to protect over 2,500 acres of forestland in Morgan County. Capito worked with a bipartisan group of lawmakers to secure federal funding to ensure the land is not commercially developed.

"This is a great milestone for land conservation efforts. Future generations will now be able to enjoy over 2,500 acres without the threat of the land being commercially developed. I am grateful we could secure much needed funding to ensure that this land is permanently protected," stated Capito.

The land is rich in natural resources and provides habitat for deer, black bear, grey squirrel, turkey and other animal species.
