Schauer's TV Ad Blames Walberg for Job Loss During Schauer's Term

Mark Schauer's latest television ad features an unemployed individual attacking Republican Congressional Candidate Tim Walberg because the company he worked for left Jackson County. This Schauer ad features the same previously used video of Tim Walberg that was clipped mid-sentence to change the meaning, and the ad blames Tim Walberg for the job loss.

As is typical with a Mark Schauer ad, highly relevant facts are purposely left out:

1) MARK SCHAUER WAS THE CONGRESSMAN WHEN THE COMPANY LEFT JACKSON, NOT TIM WALBERG: The Democrat Party controlled the presidency, U.S. House and Senate, the Governor's office, and the Michigan House of Representatives when this individual's company left Jackson County, and yes, Mark Schauer was the Congressman. Yet somehow the Schauer ad blames Tim Walberg.

2) SCHAUER CLIPS TIM WALBERG QUOTE MID-SENTENCE: At a meeting in Marshall on June 16, 2010, Tim Walberg highlighted that American manufacturers and workers are outcompeting Chinese firms because of superior American quality. Tim Walberg specifically stated that Michigan's real competition is other states and, "We're getting jobs back from China because of quality issues."

The Schauer TV ad again fails to play the final four words of the sentence, hiding from viewers the reality that Tim Walberg was praising the quality of American manufacturers and American workers.

3) SCHAUER IS THE OUTSOURCER: Tim Walberg fought to reduce the tax burden, limit government spending and enhance America's economic competitiveness. Mark Schauer voted for the "cap and trade' national energy tax, which will drive manufacturing jobs out of our country. "Cap and trade' has been called, "the ultimate outsourcing" because "India and China have repeatedly said they would not match U.S. environmental goals in order to protect their economies. Mark Schauer also voted for the stimulus law that created thousands of jobs overseas.

"While jobs continue to leave, Mark Schauer continues the policies of more spending, more debt and higher taxes. Instead of working to help Michigan families, Mark Schauer keeps blaming me for the terrible results of his big government policies," said Tim Walberg.
