U.S. Representative Martin Heinrich (NM-1) released the following statement after learning that Sandia Pueblo Governor Joe M. Lujan passed away this morning.

"It was with great sadness that Julie and I learned of Governor Lujan's passing this morning. His work on the settlement of the T'uf Shur Bien Preservation Trust Area, the agreement that settled Sandia Pueblo's land claims in the Sandia Mountains, will live on for generations. Governor Lujan was a good friend and a great leader, and he will be missed."
