Landry Response to 1 Trillion Dollar Deficit

Press Release

Today Jeff Landry reacted to the announcement of the 1.29 trillion dollar deficit in the 2010 budget. "The arrogant spending of this Administration and liberal Congress have again burdened us with a deficit that will be left for our children and grandchildren to bare," said Landry. "This is just further proof that Washington has failed us."

Today the federal government will announce that the annual deficit has again soared over a trillion dollars in 2010, due to the reckless spending and a Congress that is out of control. Bailouts, stimulus packages, and a healthcare agenda that we cannot afford has done nothing to turn the economy around, has done nothing to create jobs, but has only created a crisis for our future generations. "Washington continues to spend money that we do not have and continues to lead our nation on a path of destruction, said Landry.

"The spending must stop and we must balance the budget. We must send people to Washington that will fight against the spending, not someone that will continue to support the failed liberal agenda," said Landry. "I support a Balanced Budget Amendment and reforms to make it harder for liberals to raise taxes on our seniors and families.

"As a small business owner, I understand what it means to balance a budget. I understand what it takes to make the hard decisions and cut spending. The choice in this race is clear, we can elect someone with the experience necessary to handle the problems that our nation faces, or we can elect another vote for Obama and the failure that is the liberal agenda," said Landry.
