John Stephen, Republican nominee for New Hampshire Governor, today released his fifth television advertisement for his campaign. His ad, titled "Daughters," highlights Stephen's family and focuses on the need to protect the state's competitive advantage for future generations of New Hampshire residents. It focuses on the need to reduce taxes and spending to create jobs and grow the economy, and contrasts his vision for New Hampshire with Governor Lynch, who has raised numerous taxes to expand state spending.
"The out-of-control spending and tax increases under Governor Lynch are jeopardizing New Hampshire's future," Stephen said. "As a father, I'm very concerned that my daughters have the same opportunity to enjoy our state's values of low taxes, limited government and economic prosperity that I did. Unfortunately, all our citizens have seen in the past four years with Governor Lynch has been higher taxes, more spending and bigger government. It's time for change to ensure our New Hampshire values are protected."
In the advertisement, Stephen also brings back his famous veto pen to underscore his commitment to stop new taxes and spending as Governor.
"Despite Governor Lynch's claims that he did not raise business taxes, the facts show that he did so regularly," Stephen added. "These taxes are a serious drag on our economy as we now have the highest business tax rate in the nation, and that's a job killer. As Governor, I'll cut taxes and spending so that we can add jobs. That's the change our citizens deserve -- and New Hampshire needs."
