GOP Senate Nominee Calls For Pro-Growth Solutions To Create Jobs

Former New Hampshire Attorney General Kelly Ayotte, of Nashua, issued the following statement regarding today's announcement that the national unemployment stands at 9.6%:

"Paul Hodes has rubber-stamped failed policies that have led to 14 straight months of unemployment rates topping 9.5% while millions of our fellow citizens have lost their jobs. Since Hodes' near trillion-dollar stimulus became law, the country has lost a staggering 2.6 million jobs.

"In fact, just yesterday, we learned that stimulus checks were sent to 72,000 dead people. Not only has the stimulus not delivered the jobs Hodes promised, he also has failed to provide vigorous oversight of this bloated program.

"Congressman Hodes' attempts to tax and spend his way to economic growth have failed miserably, but he remains fully committed to doing both.

"Now, Paul Hodes wants to raise taxes on New Hampshire's small businesses but only after the election. Insulting New Hampshire small business owners, Hodes recently joined Nancy Pelosi in voting to adjourn Congress without taking action to prevent looming tax hikes. That failure will make it even harder for small businessmen and women to plan, invest and hire workers.

"Congressman Hodes has had a chance to lead, and he's failed. To jumpstart our economy and create jobs, we need to get Washington off our backs. That means cutting taxes, cutting spending, cutting mandates, and retiring Paul Hodes."
