Following a morning economic event at Ring Power Company, U.S. Senate Republican nominee Marco Rubio issued the following statement regarding today's Bureau of Labor Statistics unemployment report:
"Behind this unemployment report is the real tragedy of millions of willing workers who can't find jobs because Washington has created a climate of paralyzing uncertainty for the real job creators in America. Across Florida, employers keep telling me that they're holding back on new investment and job creation because the policies coming out of Washington are making it harder.
"America's business men and women are worried about the crippling effect of more debt, higher taxes, ObamaCare's regulations and 1099 tax compliance, among other burdens. Our state and nation need leaders who will go to Washington, stand up to its big spending culture and offer a clear alternative.
"During this campaign, I have proposed a set of ideas that go hand in hand to cut spending and help create jobs. I believe we urgently need to begin by tackling our dangerously high debt and eliminate the uncertainty surrounding the 2001 and 2003 tax rates that are set to expire on January 1.
"In Florida's Senate race, I'm the only candidate offering a clear alternative to the Washington agenda of higher taxes, more debt and bigger government that has failed to put people back to work."
