Cynthia Lummis is a rancher and a graduate of the University of Wyoming College of Agriculture. Cynthia understands the needs of the industry and its contributions to our culture, our economy and our wide open spaces.
* Cynthia believes that Wyoming's farmers, ranchers, and small business people need relief from the crushing burden of Death Taxes and she opposes increasing capial gains taxes.
* The brucellosis problem in Wyoming was largely created by the federal government and Cynthia will work hard to find a common sense solution that does not sacrifice Wyoming's wildlife or Wyoming's ranchers.
* Cynthia strongly supports livestock grazing on public lands in Wyoming.
* Our national energy policy should promote a balanced approach that does not sacrifice one segment of agriculture over another. Cynthia will strive to develop common sense ethanol policies that do not subsidize corn-derived ethanol.
* Cynthia strongly supports reform of the Endangered Species Act to protect the rights of private property owners and to ensure the true costs of species recovery is born by the federal government and not shifted to the individual states.
* Cynthia believes that the best way to preserve Wyoming's open spaces is to work for sound environmental, tax and energy policies that keep Wyoming's farmers and ranchers profitable.
