"We all have a responsibility to honor our commitment to the brave men and women who have served our country in uniform and their families. If one veteran is left behind, that's one too many." - Tim Walz

As the highest ranking enlisted soldier to ever serve in Congress, Tim believes Congress needs to honor the service of our veterans. He played a central role in the fight to pass the new 21st Century GI Bill, which is helping more veterans get a college degree. And he's fighting to get veterans the care they need by making sure the VA has the resources it needs.

Standing up to Wall Street

When JPMorgan Chase and other Wall Street banks were accused of violating lending rules that in many cases caused military families to lose their homes, Tim stood up to the CEOs and demanded they fix the problem. They have since moved to change their policies and have outlined programs to help our soldiers and their families.

Protecting Veteran Benefits

When Minnesota's Red Bulls (National Guard) were not getting their just pay for serving in a combat area, Tim fought through the government bureaucracy and held the Obama Administration accountable to ensure our troops were not short changed at home.

And when Michele Bachmann suggested cutting veteran benefits as a way of reducing our nations debt, Tim had this to say:

"We have to have an aggressive, long-term plan to tackle our nation's debt, but attempting to balance the budget on the backs of veterans who have risked life and limb in service of our country is unacceptable. I believe we can and should work together to find reasonable and common-sense cuts that will reduce our debt, but as a generation of warriors returns from two wars, our most solemn responsibility is to make sure they have the care and benefits they have earned."- Tim Walz

Whether it's making sure our brave men and women have the care they need, access to good paying jobs when they return, or the recognition they deserve, Tim is fighting for our veterans every day.
